Where it all began.
I started out in this industry in 2011 when I went along to help out some friends on a large corparate install on a last minute job. We were finalising the commissioning of a large multi-system install for a large and well-known supermarket.
I had experience with cabling and terminating but my colleagues for the day were the experts so I took their lead. There were some issues when it came to handover time and they became a bit stuck as to why the issues had appeared. After hours of them trying to find solutions they explained the situation in depth and allowed me to take a look as a fresh pair of eyes. This is when we discovered that I had a natural talent for these systems and with a little time tracing things back, managed to find solutions to the issues they were facing and I’d even managed to integrate multiple systems, giving the client a finished setup that was even better than they had expected.
The following day the company I had helped out asked me if I would consider working with them again - that week I became a member of their team and they officially trained me up on the enterprise systems they were used to installing.
Barely a year later I had surpassed expectations and was promoted into a management capacity; running entire installs and upgrades for large chains like McDonald’s, Starbucks, Costco, Whitbread and Greggs.
3 years after I began, my roster of jobs had expanded my range and began working internationaly. I was working as a subcontractor for multiple top end security providers regularly attending to large scale installs and upgrades both in the UK and across Europe. I worked on everything from palaces to supermarkets aswell as; banks, power stations, petrol stations, office blocks, luxury developments, warehouses, embassies, celebrity homes and even royal properties.
A few years ago I made the decision to cut back on travelling so far and as often, nowadays I try to stick to more local work so I can spend more time home with my partner and pets. Which brings us to now. I regularly subcontract to a number of large & national companies but I’ve been getting more and more requests for my services directly. Particularly business and individuals wanting a more tailored, personal service with accountability at its core; a real person to contact that my clientele feel they just don’t get from the big national companies.
I have set up Tyton Security with the background support of my partner. With Tyton I am able to focus on individual, local clients and afford them better support, higher quality of service and commitment.
